Maidstone RCMP investigating break and enter

Around 3:00 p.m. July 5, 2022, Maidstone RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in the RM of Wilton, south of Lloydminster.
An unknown number of suspects were reported to be traveling in a black car, which left the property and was last seen traveling into the City of Lloydminster.
Another suspect was reported to be operating a side by side utility vehicle, which was located abandoned and damaged in a swamp in the same RM of Wilton area, and the suspect continued on foot.
Maidstone, Kitscoty and Vermilion RCMP Detachments secured the immediate area. Additional assistance was provided by the Lloydminster Rescue Squad.
Cold Lake, Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services attended to help search for the suspect. Around 6:45 p.m., an adult male was arrested by Cold Lake RCMP Police Dog Services.
38-year-old Reagan Racette from North Battleford is charged with: one count, break and enter, one count, flight from police, one count, possession of stolen property.
There was also an outstanding warrant for Racette’s arrest out of Kitscoty RCMP Detachment and Cut Knife Detachment for separate investigations of break and enter, theft and trespassing. Racette will appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
Continued investigation determined the side by side utility vehicle was reported stolen out of Vermilion, Alberta area.
